Dr. Harold Bergman, an Oral Surgeon with over 50 years of experience in dental implants, has witnessed the evolution of the field from its experimental days with stainless steel to the modern use of titanium. Acknowledging the shift from a "Wild West" era to a more regulated landscape, he developed surgical techniques such as the "extraction site," "cookie cutter," and "limited exposure" methods to make implant surgery easier and less traumatic for patients.
Dr. Bergman also designed and manufactured several implant systems, including Anchor, Simpler, SIMPLI, and K9 for veterinary use, as well as generic tools like the Shadow Metal Locator and Implant Drill Sharpener.
Throughout his career, he has trained thousands of dental and veterinary professionals, published over 100 scientific articles, and created 29 online courses. In response to recent mandates from licensing bodies for increased competency, detailed patient records, and flawless informed consent, he developed PREP.
